What is the status of American Friends of BNP Paribas' Rescue & Recover Fund, Inc. ?

American Friends of BNP Paribas' Rescue & Recover Fund, Inc. is a Public charity exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

How do I know if I qualify to give to the Rescue & Recover Fund?

The Rescue& Recover Fund is open to all BNP Paribas Group employees around the world, as well as to all members of the “Association Des Retraités” (ADR - Association for retired BNP Paribas employees) in France. More recently, it has also been made accessible to BNP Paribas retail banking customers in France.

What were the selection criteria for the Fund's three Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) partners (CARE, Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders)?

The three NGOs selected as partners are leading humanitarian organisations, whose work and professionalism make them benchmarks in their respective fields. Their front-line expertise means that BNP Paribas can act quickly and effectively to help vulnerable people groups. In addition, the type of aid they deliver and the regions they focus their efforts on complement each other.

How are the projects and places where aid is delivered chosen?

The Rescue & Recover Fund can provide aid to help any humanitarian emergency in France or abroad.
Depending on the specific needs on the ground, the Fund's NGO-partners put forward a list of projects to the Fund’s Board, which is chaired by Baudouin Prot.
The Fund's trustees, supported by qualified experts in humanitarian work, then choose which projects to support.

Can I choose which organisation my donations go to?

The Rescue & Recover Fund was launched in close partnership with three NGOs (CARE, Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders), to best respond to the needs of vulnerable populations and to act quickly when emergencies happen.
Supplemented by a matching contribution from BNP Paribas, all donations are distributed equally between the three NGOs who carry out the work that the Fund supports.

Are my donations eligible for tax exemptions?

Rescue & Recover Fund donations are eligible for tax exemptions in the USA, France and Luxembourg, in accordance with the tax regimes in each country.
If you are tax-resident in France, 66% of your donations are tax deductible!
This means that 66% of donations made to the Rescue & Recover Fund can be deducted from your tax liability, up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income.
If you are tax-resident in Luxembourg, 100% of your donations are tax deductible!
To benefit from these tax exemptions, you need to donate a minimum of €120 in a year. Additionally, the amount you can donate in any one year cannot exceed €1 million, or 20% of your net income.
If you are a tax-resident in the USA, part of your donation is tax deductible.
Please retain the Contribution Acknowledgment receipt that will be automatically generated at the end of your online donation for tax deductibility purposes. For more information please consult the IRS website.

Is there a limit on the matching contribution that BNP Paribas makes?

BNP Paribas matches every donation made by an employee or member of the “association Des Retraités” (ADR - Association for retired BNP Paribas employees), up to a yearly maximum of €1.1 million.

Will my personal details be passed on to the Rescue & Recover Fund's NGO partners and will they ask me to make further donations?

The Fund's NGO partners do not receive any personal information about Rescue & Recover Fund donors. The details that you provide will only be used to ensure that you have the right tax receipts and to send you information about how the partner-NGOs have used the funds.

I'm an employee. How can I make a donation to the Rescue & Recover Fund?

This is my first donation to the Rescue & Recover Fund
The first step in making a donation to the Rescue & Recover Fund is to create your online Donor Account. To do this, click on the "make a donation” tab on the navigation bar. You will be automatically redirected to the registration form. You'll need to complete this form in full, so make sure you have your BNP Paribas Directory ID details with you.

I've already made a donation to the Rescue & Recover Fund
If you're already a donor to the Rescue & Recover Fund, you can make a new donation directly from your Donor Account. To access it, you’ll need to log in using your BNP Paribas Directory ID and then enter the password for your account (which you chose the first time you logged in).

Can I change my User ID, my password, and my personal details?

You cannot change your User ID because it is an official directory number. Your User ID for the Fund's website is the same as your BNP Paribas Directory ID as an employee.

However, you can make changes to your personal information directly from your Donor Account. You can access it by going to the Rescue & Recover Fund’s website and logging in using your BNP Paribas Directory ID and the password for your profile (which you configured when you created your account). Once in your Donor Account, simply click on "Change your address” or “Change your password”.

If you've forgotten your password, click on the "Forgotten password?” link at the bottom of the login box. Your password will then be sent to the email address you entered when you created your profile.

How do I get my tax receipt?

If you are tax-resident in France or Luxembourg you can access tax receipts for your donations directly from your Donor Account on the Rescue & Recover Fund's website.
To access it, you’ll need to log in using your BNP Paribas Directory ID, and then enter the password for your account (which you chose the first time you logged in).

Once in your Donor Account, click on "Consult your donations / print your tax receipts”. This gives you access to all of the information related to the donations you have made. Simply click on the green arrow to the right of the donation amount to upload your tax receipt in PDF format (Acrobat Reader). You can then print the receipt and/or save it electronically

How can I track the status and history of my donations?

From your Donor Account (which you can access after you have logged in), click on the link "Consult your donations” at any time to see a summary of your donations.
N.B. It can take up to 24 hours for the details of your donation to appear in your Donor Account.

My transaction appears to have been refused, what should I do?

It’s possible that the transaction has been refused by your bank. If this is the case, it's best to contact your bank directly to resolve the problem.

What payment methods can I use when I make a donation?

The fund only accepts donation in US Dollar currency. Payment can be made with MasterCard and Visa only.
